Pastor Chet

Chet Cottom

Pastor Chet has a heart for this community and loves leading new and inventive outreach ministries within the Okmulgee area.  He is usually in Okmulgee so come by the church or look for him in our community
.
I was born and raised in Oklahoma and grew up on a family farm raising cattle and sheep in a very close knit family. My faith in Jesus Christ is the highest priority and relationship in my life. My wife, DeAnn, and I have survived children, floods, new businesses and working many years in youth ministry and other avenues trying to make a difference in people’s lives by showing them Christ in our lives.
My wife and I were called to serve at Okmulgee First Free Will Baptist Church in 2018. It is an honor and privilege to serve as the pastor at a church that some of my family helped build. I have always had an evangelical heart and a passion to reach others with the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Damian Martin

Digital Ministry Leader

My family and I have attended OFFWB since 2020. Before Pastor Chet took his position, I would guest preach once a month, and when we heard they found a Pastor, my wife and I came to visit and say thank you for the opportunities I had received. When we got to the car after service, we both looked at each other and said, "this is where we are supposed to be." I graduated Oral Roberts University in 2021 and have been serving at OFFWB every since. My most prominent role at OFFWB is leading our digital ministry. I love discipleship and want to help this church find a way to accomplish biblical discipleship to the people who may never step foot in our physical building. I also teach the young adults Sunday school and the Men's class on Wednesday nights.

Cindy Lane

Worship Leader

I grew up in Crowder on beautiful Lake Eufaula.  My sweet Grandma Mae taught me to sing and was the perfect example of what a Christian woman should be. My goal is to live up to her example and join her and the rest of my family in Heaven.I began singing in my home church of Crowder FWB Church at age 9 with 3 of my cousins.  Around age 12 I began leading the evening song services. When I got married and left home I was leading music in all weekly services.

In 1981, I married my husband Leslie and we moved to Okmulgee in 1982 for him to attend "Okmulgee Tech".  We began attending the Okmulgee FWB Church in 1985 and I became the song leader a year or so later.

The song service has always been my favorite part of any Church service. I love to tell the story of Jesus and God's love with songs. I love being able to bring comfort to others with a song.I can't read music and I've never had a voice lesson so I am sure there are many people who could do a better job than I, but I promise you that no one does it with more heart and sincere desire to help others find their way to Jesus. I am so thankful that our Heavenly Father saw fit to bless me with just enough talent to do that.
